We would like to welcome you to our new adventure. We first visited the mill as a customer of it's previous tenant, Multiyork looking for a bargain as the company folded. We brought a chair, fell in love with the building, decided to leave retirement behind, stay, and create one last chapter in our working lives.
The old mill is a beautiful building in the heart of Mellis, Suffolk. Built in 1842 it was originally a Maltings - working grain mill that stands on the site on a natural well. This well provided water which was then used to flood the cleverly designed cellar floors, soaking the grain and allowing it to swell before it was weighed into sacks, raised on chains and pulleys and sent off to market. It was later occupied by Hovis but time has passed and now a new adventure begins for this charming space.
The mill is a huge space with a very individual character and we believe it's charm and our experience coupled together will offer you an interesting and rewarding shopping experience.
Our prices are keen, our staff are friendly and Eric the old black Labrador is always on site to welcome you. We are more than happy to offer you a cup of coffee and time to amble around our store in the hope that you will revisit with friends and family.
